The agreement grants exclusive sales and distribution rights for Muth’s through-the-glass™ signalling products to the automotive market. Calesco will sell to original equipment manufacturer (OEM) and Tier 1 companies in the majority of European countries.

The emphasis for initial sales will be on Muth’s Signal Mirror® product line. This innovative safety feature helps prevent accidents by notifying surrounding drivers of a vehicle’s intentions. With over 6 million Signal® mirrors on vehicles in the United States, worldwide demand continues to grow. Calesco will sell the product line to OEM’s that manufacture vehicles in Europe.

Signal® mirrors, activated by a directional indicator, feature a high-intensity red LED chevron that flashes through the glass of the corresponding side mirror to alert drivers in the “blind spots.” When hazard lights are activated, the chevrons flash in both mirrors. The mirrors function as regular rear-view mirrors whether the turn indicators are on or not. Unlike adjacent drivers who see a highly visible lighted display, the driver of the vehicle equipped with Signal® mirrors sees a subtle tell-tale display as a reminder the indicator is activated.
