K.W. Muth and Muth Mirror Systems File Lawsuit Against Gentex Corporation

Sheboygan, WI --  K.W. Muth and Muth Mirror Systems, LLC filed suit against Gentex Corporation on July 11, 2006, in the U.S. District Court in Madison, Wisconsin, claiming that certain Gentex turn indicator mirrors infringe Muth¹s U. S. Patent No. 6,045,243. Two weeks before this suit was filed, Gentex sued Muth in the U.S. District Court in Detroit claiming, in part, breach of the parties' Alliance Agreement which provides Gentex a limited license of certain Muth technology and claiming infringement of one of Gentex's patents, allegations that Muth denies and will vigorously defend.
   Founded in 1947, Muth is a privately held company with approximately 85 employees in Sheboygan, Wisconsin.  Muth's innovative and patented Signal Mirror® technology is found on many popular vehicle models including Cadillac, Chevrolet, GMC, Ford, and Toyota.  Founded in 1974, Gentex (Nasdaq: GNTX) has more than 2,200 employees and is based in Zeeland, Michigan.
